There’s a Plant You Can Buy That Might Stop You From Snoring

Those boffins at NASA have taught us many things about the mysteries of the universe – but now their research could help stop you snoring.

And, of course, if it’s a friend, family member or partner doing the snoring in your earshot, it can lead to all sorts of other problems – perhaps a poor night’s sleep for you or even an argument breaking out between yourself and your nearest and dearest.

Worst of all, it could be a symptom of a disorder which is hard to identify and, according to NHS Choices, has “serious health risks”.

Nasa researchers have come up with a list of plants that can improve air quality – and improve your breathing – and one of them is for sale in Asda, the Derby Telegraph reports .

The supermarket chain says it has introduced a new, “snore-shattering” Pineapple Plant to its range.

A spokesman for the supermarket chain said: “There’s nothing more annoying than falling into a deep sleep, only to be woken by the sound of a chainsaw reverberating from your partner’s side of the bed.

“As we enter the Christmas season– which, for many, involves numerous parties and events – snoring will become an even bigger drain on sleep, making the plant the perfect Christmas gift for any party-goers out there.

“According to NASA studies, Pineapple Plants produce oxygen and improve air quality throughout the night and, therefore, aid better (and quieter) sleep. With almost a quarter of Brits regularly sleeping in different rooms due to their partner’s snoring, this could be the bedroom revolution British couples have been waiting for to get them out of prickly night-time situations.

The plants are grown in Holland and, according to Asda, take between 21 and 24 months to develop to produce the inedible, miniature pineapple which adorns the top.Phil Smith, Asda plant buyer, said: “Snorts, snuffles and splutters affect a quarter of Brits.

“So, for those 16 million snorers, Asda’s Pineapple Plant could be a dream come true – even more so for sleep-deprived partners.

“For those lucky enough to sleep through the night without the disturbance of snoring, the plant is a chic addition to the home which is easy to care for and adds a little touch of The Tropics to any room.”

Asda’s Pineapple Plants are available nationwide until January for £12.
