"The Art of Napping has changed me from a secret napper to an outgoing, upfront napper."

-Andy Rooney

The Art of Napping

"There is in fact a magic bullet for life. It's called a daily nap. Read all about it here in this very funny book and change your life Sorry, got to run. It's time for my nap!"

-Jim Lehrer

Are you "sleep deprived," as New York Times Magazine (1/5/97) says most of us are? Or simply "nap-ready"- ready for a no-cost, no sweat way to healthier, saner and more productive living?

Great nappers include JFK, Winston Churchill, Thomas Edison, Nap-olean Bonaparte, Johannes Brahms, Jim Lehrer, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and many others that will surprise you as nappers "come out" in our napaphobic culture.

This lighthearted, humorously illustrated book about a skill that deserves serious attention will lighten your heart, too. Let Bill Anthony amuse and entertain you with Profiles in Napping (stories of legendary nappers and great historical naps), Napping Strategies (novice to advanced levels), Nap Management (getting the most of your naps) Degrees of Nap Difficulty, the Vocabulary of Napping, and the Future of Napping.

Everybody's talking in their sleep about The Art of Napping

From The Art of Napping, page 3:

As the Bible says, "on the seventh day...God rested." Even God naps! I suspect that in earlier translations of the Bible the text read that "on the seventh day God nappeth."

And God is not the only famous napper. Brahms napped at the piano while he composed his famous lullaby. Napoleon napped between battles. Churchill maintained that he had to nap in order to cope with his wartime responsibilities. Geniuses such as Edison and Da Vinci napped. Obviously nappers are in good company.

Thank God for nappers.
National Workplace Napping Day!
From The Art of Napping, page 23:

There are a number of ways nappers can help to change our nappist society. First of all, we need to be vigilant about nappist vocabulary, often used non-too-subtly by napaphobics. Proud nappers must inhibit people from using such phrases as stealing a nap, sneaking a nap, going down for a nap, and caught napping. Nappers have naps. They don't take, steal, or sneak naps. Nappers don't go down for a nap, they prepare for a nap. Nappers are never caught napping, because there is no crime to catch. Nappers are merely seen napping.
